Application

Catalyst
Cuprous Iodide can be used as organic synthesis catalyst. For example, it can catalyze aryl bromide, bromo-heterocyclic compound and vinyl bromide to translate to the corresponding iodides under 1, 2 - or 1, 3-2 amine ligand. Chromium Iodide is often used as low-temperature conversion catalyst and halogenating agent. Lithium Iodide can be used in catalytic dehydrogenation reaction for Hydrocarbon

Pharmaceutical
Iodides can be used in curing Hyperthyroidism to reduce thyroxine releasing from thyroid.
Sodium Iodide can be applied to urinary system radiography, such as cystography, retrograde pyelography, T-tube retrograde cholangiography and fistula radiography etc.

It has the advantages of clear development, non-toxic, adverse reaction, easy absorption and excretion, stable physical and chemical properties, long storage but not metamorphism etc. Manganese Iodide can be used as pharmaceutical intermediate.

Battery
Cuprous Iodide is a magnificent photoelectric material and it's widely used in solar energy batteries technology. Lithium Iodide can be used as electrolyte in high temperature and long-period batteries  

Optics
Ferric Iodide is a halide that can provide extensive ultraviolet radiation. It can improve spectral output of lights when in the 380 nm wavelength range. Ferric iodide metal halide lights can be effective in optical high polymer materials and solar energy film exposure system.
